We said goodbye again to Nick, Brigid and their family as well as our new friends from Perth and after driving back back through the 50km dirt track headed in our own direction further east towards the Northern Territory.
The Bungles had claimed one victory over us – our Anderson Plug had been ripped out and I had to buy a new one to reconnect the car electricity to the camper-trailer. We also visited another Zebra Rock Gallery in a pretty location just outside Kununurra where some trinkets were bought.

We finally make it to the NT border |
A long drive then ensued and we ended up passing into the Northern Territory, with a quick photo-op at the border and then stopping for the night at the Keep River National Park. This pretty park turned out to have terrific rock formations and an early morning walk was a great way to see it. We listened to a night talk from one of the rangers around a campfire – he turned out to be Japanese with an interesting history of how he got there. The estimated 2500 rock engravings and artwork at Keep NP unfortunately are now off-limits to tourists on the request of the traditional owners.
