Day 143-144 Devils Marbles – Alice Springs 20th August - 22nd August

We arrived at Alice Springs, the iconic frontier town, in the afternoon and were pleasantly surprised to find that the Henley-On-Todd Regatta was still in full swing. We spent a delightful afternoon watching groups of eccentric territorians racing Flintstone style, carrying bottomless boats, charging along the dry creek bed famously known as the Todd River. The afternoon cumulated with a spectacular finale involving three huge ships, loud explosions and water bombs.

Another highlight of Alice Springs was the Alice Springs Desert Park, which provided a taste of regions of NT, its flora and fauna.
