The long drive south (600km) continued with endless miles of straight road leading us closer to the centre of Australia. In Katherine we caught up briefly with Nick, Brigid Conor and Daniel for lunch. Then it was off to Mataranka Springs for a refreshing soak and swim.

The long drive day finished up with a bang – with a night out at the eccentric Daly Waters Pub. A great pub dinner with Chilli the bush poet and song completed the night.
