Day 159 Ilfracombe – Emerald September 4th – September 5th

Fathers day and the kids made some superb cards for me and for the first time ever cooked bacon and eggs for brekkie. Led by Jordan, they worked hard on the bacon, eggs, baked beans and toast.

Then it was a long drive to get as close as we could to Carnarvon National Park. We got as far as mining town of Emerald and parked at the agro grounds for cheap but pleasant place to sleep.

My, you've grown!

The days and nights are certainly getting colder as we head away from the outback and eastwards to the coast. Civilization beckons, with its increasing mobile coverage and bitumen roads.
