Day 160 Emerald – Carnarvon National Park September 5th – September 6th

Another long drive day allowed us to reach Carnarvon National Park by the early afternoon. This is one of the biggest and most popular parks in Queensland - the highlight of which is Carnarvon Gorge and the aboriginal rock art on display.

We manage to fit in a series of shorter walks which gave us a flavour of the park but didn't get the time to do the 22km of walks so missed some of the more spectacular sites.

Crossing Nature Trail creeks via stepping stones

Warrumbah Gorge

Jasmine & Flooded Gum

Big Ben

Baloon Cave

Memorial of 1943 plane crash during electrical storm
