Day 57 – Wave Rock, Hyden - Kalgoorlie , 30th May

The winds started to buffet the tent in the early hours of the morning. During a pause in the showers, we quickly packed up the tent and had breakfast in the camp kitchen area. During times like these, you can appreciate a caravan!

We stopped to have a quick look at the marvelous tin sculptures in Hyden, we also displayed the fascinating history of the town and its many characters.

Then it was time to take another long dirt road northwards to start our journey to Kalgoorlie.
We camped just outside town, at Lake Douglas Recreation Reserve, which a is large red, dusty open area with a what looks like a man-made lake nearby.
