Day 76-77 Monkey Mia – Denham - Peron National Park 18th June – 19th June

We arranged to meet up with another family which had attended the same 4WD course as us and were also taking 6 months off travelling in the same direction: Nick, Brigid and their boys Conor and Daniel. We drove up to Peron National Park for two nights bush camping. We drove a fun hour 4WD'ing along sandy tracks to camp at Bottle Bay, on the north-east tip of the peninsula, passing Birradahs on the way.

We had a beautiful spot near an unspoilt beach and we spent two wonderful days enjoying the park and its spectacular sights. We took a 4WD drive to Cape Peron, the northern tip and walked along the track to Skipjack Point. There we saw turtles, cormorants, dolphins and schools of fish pass by from the stunning red cliffs in the turquoise waters below.

The fishing was finally great. We caught enough to feed the families for a couple of days – snapper, whiting, goat fish and a couple of species we couldn’t quite identify!
