Good-bye Tasmania!

The next morning, after a spot more fishing and after Robyn had battled with the washing machine and dryer, we packed up and headed on to finish our Tasmanian adventure.

Mothers Day! The kids had worked hard on some great cards for Robyn, bringing a tear to her eye. We had a breakfast of cereal and pancakes and I performed my part of the Mother Day ritual and washed up – surely that wasn't for the first time in 5 weeks?

Happy Mothers Day!
Caught in the act!

Our next stop was Sheffield, a town which is famous for its many murals dotting the town. We had a look around and headed back off to Devonport to catch the evening ferry. Passing through Latrobe, a pretty town, we took a picture of the BIG Platypus.

Arriving at Devonport, we found a space by the beach where the kids could play and I could put the roof-rack back on the trailer to keep under our 2.1m limit, tying it down with several pieces of rope.
We boarded the ferry that evening and headed to our cabin. Our cabin was for 4 and though we had an additional two recliners, we all decided to squeeze into that space for the journey to the mainland. The kids were excited to sleep on beds and watch a movie.

Tasmania has certainly been a great adventure for our family. A land full of wondrous landscapes, rich history and welcoming people. The air had been so remarkably clear, our campgrounds has been fantastic and the weather, though getting colder, had been mostly warm full of sunshine. I think we have only had a taster of what Tasmania is all about and we will return to this great state, but for now we say good-bye Tasmania!
